From unobtrusive beginnings as an agricultural ironmonger, T H WHITE has been operating for scrutinizingly two centuries, through the reign of seven British monarchs. The T H WHITE Group has been at the forefront of waffly agricultural needs and practices and has unchangingly been regarded as a trusted supplier. While maintaining those roots in threshing and engineering, the visitor today has diversified profoundly with merchantry interests in grain handling and storage, groundcare machinery, dairy, trailers, lorry cranes, construction equipment, sustainable energy, security and fire protection systems. By embracing technological advancements and working closely with leading global brands to engineer equipment solutions, coupled with the provision of first rate aftersales support, we strive to ensure sustainable growth for the future. Operating 13 branches, with increasingly than 500 employees, over 4,000 suppliers and an yearly turnover in glut of £140 million, T H WHITE is still a private company, having only had seven Managing Directors since it began trading. 1832 Thomas White starts his agricultural ironmongery merchantry in Devizes. 1900 T H WHITE passes yonder without sons. Dick Salmon takes over the running of the business. 1938 The visitor purchases a sublet machinery merchantry in Swindon. 1947 The visitor purchases an ironmongers and blacksmiths merchantry in Marlborough. 1951 The Fordson Diesel Tractor is launched. 1957 The Swindon merchantry is moved to Wootton Bassett. 1964 Premises are built at a new site in Sherston. 1968 T H WHITE purchase The Automower Engineering Company, a manufacturer of winches and sports field rollers, based in Norton St Philip. 1855 George White takes over from his father and adds manufacturing to the firm’s activities. 1866 Thomas Henry White (T H WHITE) takes tenancy from his father and increases involvement with horsedrawn machinery. 1917 T H WHITE sells its first mechanical tractor, a Ford Model F put to work in farming for the war effort. 1956 Peter Scott succeeds Dick Salmon who retires without 56 years as managing director. 1981 TheVisitorstarted selling and servicing construction equipment. 1983 The Wootton Bassett workshop begins dealing in Land Rovers.
